Nirvana in Arc 1800

Nama Springs: inspired by “namaste” (welcome) in Hindi. “We preferred the Indian style over the Savoyarde style”, announces Franck Bouffioux, a globe-trotter who is passionate about Asia and is a specialist in well-being (among others he has worked for Accor). “It’s a choice. Just like that of defining the place as a ‘bath house’.”

This ‘bath house’, or ‘Maison de Bains’, occupies 800m² on two levels in the Les Monarques residence, the latest addition to the Edenarc resort, whose 300 or so tourist apartments are managed by Odalys Voyages. This top-of-the-range, ski-in, ski-out property is located just above Arc 1800. A free lift, the Dahu, links the two areas between 8am and 11pm, making it easy for people staying elsewhere to visit Nama Springs. Unlike the swimming centres reserved for property owners or guests, the concept of this ‘bath house’ is that it is open to all.

over the Savoyarde style

Level with the ski slopes, the heated outdoor pool attracts the attention of skiers: Himalayan prayer flags are draped above the water and you could almost believe you were at Everest Base Camp… Except, of course, that at base camp there is no current flow swimming pool, waterfall fountains, underwater massage jets… This fact is confirmed again, if confirmation was required, in the relaxation room, whose walls are covered by giant photos of the roof of the world, its famous camp and its fluttering flags. A grandiose view, before which you can lounge on a bed whose mattress is filled with warm water.
